About
Pontaku Audio.
I’m a game sound designer based in Japan. I build audio plugins and ReaScripts to solve the frustrations I’ve encountered while creating sound effects.
Chronoform
Chronoform grew out of my experience with varispeed plugins that felt too focused on music production. I wanted something that worked more naturally for sound design. A request from a fellow sound designer also helped shape it: being able to hear sounds at half speed, in real time, while recording Foley.

Pitch Canvas began with a simple wish: I wanted to hear the shapes I saw in a spectrogram. I often look at spectrograms while listening to sound effects, so thinking in those shapes feels more natural to me than thinking in MIDI notes.
I’ve also found that sounds tied too closely to musical scales can be difficult to use as sound effects. Pitch Canvas grew from that experience into a tool for exploring pitch beyond fixed notes and scales.
I never wanted to build a synthesizer—I love Phase Plant too much. I wanted to bring out more of what existing synthesizers can do, with a way of shaping sound that feels natural for sound design.

I share development updates in Japanese on X and in English on Bluesky. Released plugins are available on Payhip.
